PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Muslims living in the United States, Europe and
other areas where Islamic patterns of life are not predominant have limited opportunities
to gain meaningful first-hand insight into the rich heritage
of Islam and the cultures around the world that reflect it.
These Muslims
may travel abroad in order to perform the Hajj or Umra.
Some visit their homeland or that of their parents for brief visits, but
do not learn about other regions or peoples outside their particular
culture. Yet others seek out interesting vacation
destinations.
IslamiCity's Travel Study
program address all three dimensions of travel. The various
tours offered emphasize learning about Islamic heritage in a
given region, thus enriching Muslims' religious identity and
hopefully stimulating spiritual growth. The tours also provide
participants with cultural exposure and experiences, engendering
a greater global connection among Muslims, and among people of
different ethnicities and nationalities generally. Last but not
least, the tours provide excellent itineraries for Muslims
seeking a travel adventure or a vacation from routine life.

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
The tour is open to Muslim adult individuals, married
couples, and families. College-age students in particular are
encouraged to take part. Individuals must be at least 18 years
of age. Younger participants in their teens must be accompanied
by a responsible parent or suitable guardian. Families with
children under 7 years should consider their ability to travel
at a fast pace in a group context before enrolling. Participants should be in good physical condition with no
serious health issues, as the program is packed with
full days of activities,
and is somewhat physically demanding (walking and hiking).
A completed registration form with payment of a non-refundable deposit is required
to reserve your spot on the program. Register early. Space is
always limited due to IslamiCity's policy of organizing small
group tours of no more than 25 travelers, to provide a more
personalized experience.
