39:38 If indeed thou ask them who it is that created the heavens and the earth, they would be sure to say, "(Allah)". Say: "See ye then? the things that ye invoke besides Allah,- can they, if Allah wills some Penalty for me, remove His Penalty?- Or if He wills some Grace for me, can they keep back his Grace?" Say: "Sufficient is Allah for me! In Him trust those who put their trust." Turkish:
39:38 Andolsun, onlara: "Gökleri ve yeri kim yaratti?" diye soracak olsan, elbette "Allah" diyecekler. De ki: "Gördünüz mü-haber verin; Allah'tan baska taptiklariniz, eger Allah bana bir zarar dileyecek olsa, O'nun zararini kaldirabilirler mi? Ya da bana bir rahmet vermeyi istese, O'nun rahmetini tutup-önleyebilecekler mi" De ki: "Allah, bana yeter. Tevekkül edecek olanlar, O'na tevekkül etsinler."
French:
39:38 Si tu leur demandais: "Qui a créé les cieux et la terre? ", Ils diraient assurément: "Allah". Dis: "Voyez-vous ceux que vous invoquez en dehors d'Allah; si Allah me voulait du mal, est-ce que [ces divinités] pourraient dissiper Son mal? Ou s'Il me voulait une miséricorde, pourraient-elles retenir Sa miséricorde?" - Dis: "Allah me suffit: c'est en Lui que placent leur confiance ceux qui cherchent un appui"
German:
39:38 Und wenn du sie fragst: "Wer schuf die Himmel und die Erde?", so werden sie sicherlich antworten: "Allah". Sprich: "Wißt ihr dann, was ihr außer Allah anruft? Wenn Allah für mich Unglück will, können sie dessen Schaden entfernen? Oder wenn Er Barmherzigkeit für mich will, können sie Seine Barmherzigkeit hemmen?" Sprich: "Allah ist meine Genüge. Auf Ihn vertrauen die Vertrauenden."

39:38 Si les preguntas: "¿Quién ha creado los cielos y la tierra?", seguro que dicen: "¡Alá!" Di: "Y ¿qué os parece? Si Alá me deseara una desgracia, las que invocáis en lugar de invocarle a Él ¿podrían impedirlo? Y, si Él quisiera hacerme objeto de una misericordia, podrían ellas evitarlo?" Di: "¡Alá me basta! Quienes confían, confían en É1".
