English (Yusuf Ali): (Recite)
2:231 When ye divorce women, and they fulfil the term of their ('Iddat), either take them back on equitable terms or set them free on equitable terms; but do not take them back to injure them, (or) to take undue advantage; if any one does that; He wrongs his own soul. Do not treat Allah's Signs as a jest, but solemnly rehearse Allah's favours on you, and the fact that He sent down to you the Book and Wisdom, for your instruction. And fear Allah, and know that Allah is well acquainted with all things. Turkish:
2:231 Kadinlari bosadiginizda, bekleme sürelerini tamamlamislarsa, onlari ya güzellikle tutun ya da güzellikle birakin. Fakat haklarini ihlal edip zarar vermek için onlari (yaninizda) tutmayin. Kim böyle yaparsa artik o, kendi nefsine zulmetmis olur. Allah'in ayetlerini oyun (konusu) edinmeyin ve Allah'in size verdigi nimeti ve size ögüt olarak indirdigi Kitab'i ve hikmeti anin. Allah'tan korkup-sakinin ve bilin ki, Allah her seyi bilendir.
French:
2:231 Et quand vous divorcez d'avec vos épouses, et que leur délai expire, alors, reprenez-les conformément à la bienséance, ou libérez-les conformément à la bienséance. Mais ne les retenez pas pour leur faire du tort: vous transgresseriez alors et quiconque agit ainsi se fait du tort à lui-même. Ne prenez pas en moquerie les versets d'Allah. Et rappelez-vous le bienfait d'Allah envers vous, ainsi que le Livre et la Sagesse qu'Il vous a fait descendre, par lesquels Il vous exhorte. Et craignez Allah, et sachez qu'Allah est Omniscient.
German:
2:231 Und wenn ihr euch von den Frauen scheidet und sie nähern sich dem Ende ihrer Wartefrist, dann sollt ihr sie entweder auf geziemende Art behalten oder auf geziemende Art entlassen; doch haltet sie nicht zu (ihrem) Schaden zurück, um ungerecht zu handeln. Wer das aber tut, wahrlich, der sündigt wider seine eigene Seele. Und treibt nicht Spott mit Allahs Geboten, und gedenket der Gnade Allahs gegen euch und des Buchs und der Weisheit, die Er euch herabgesandt hat, womit Er euch ermahnt. Und fürchtet Allah und wisset, daß Allah alles weiß.
Spanish:
2:231 Cuando repudiéis a vuestras mujeres y éstas alcancen su término, retenedlas como se debe o dejadlas en libertad como se debe. ¡No las sujetéis a la fuerza, en violación de las leyes de Alá! Quien esto hace es injusto consigo mismo. ¡No toméis a burla las aleyas de Alá, antes bien recordad la gracia de Alá para con vosotros y lo que os ha revelado de la Escritura y de la Sabiduría, exhortándoos con ello! ¡Temed a Alá y sabed que Alá es omnisciente!
