Pope needs Dope Test
Pope is considered very responsible person more-so when he is opening mouth in re other religions. Muslim is the only nation who believe in all the Prophets PBUT, including the Moses PBUH & Isa Ibn Maryam viz Messiah Jesus PBUH endorsed by Allah Almighty, as part and parcel of their faith. Nevertheless a few month before profaning by a Jew publisher and now by Pope, Benedict XVI recently blasphemous & sacrilegious remarks against Islam & Prophet Mohammad PBUH are highly mournful & regretful. This much dissenting remarks by a person of this stature provide nothing but food for antipathy, which is not a valid trend. I think that no pope has done so before. I doubt some sickness might have overwhelmed the present one - hence the present pope needs a dope-test.
If there is any illumination in this planet & universe it is due to Islam & Prophet Mohammad PBUH the Pope must not overlook!!!

Atleast he told us his true feelings instead of hiding behind the curtain of peace and harmony like the former popes.

I dont think tiz appropriate for the theology proffessor to show his true feelings at the price of abuse of islam.I kindly ask u to take that back...bcoz truth is HE ABUSED ISLAM!He said himself that prophet MUhammad SAW brought evil in that he preached a religion with terrorism.

Il just assume u didnt se the news neither did u read the newspapers nor did u read/listen to his speech that u have to defend the proffessor.

UmmAmara, if you hang around, you'll soon pick up the 'tone' of
other poster's words.

Akmf was being sarcastic, it is true, the Pope has shown what he
really thinks by his speech which he wrote himself (unlike many
other people in positions of power and influence.) So Akmf is saying
that the pope clumsily revealed his own thoughts on Islam even
though he was quoting from a book by a well known and respected
German theologian. This pope is an intelectual with little feeling for
politics, unlike his predecesor who was a master at politics.

Akmf is not defending the professor of theology whom the pope
quoted, he is saying that at least this pope doesn't pretend to hold
Islam in the same respect as he does Judaism.

This pope has shown loud and clear the total lack of any connection
to modern society held by the Catholic Church, as it dresses up in
fine silks and ermine gowns, decorating its property with
masterpieces from the Renaissance and gold and jewels, and
preaching humility and abstinence while buying more property and
security for its fine arts.

Duende, how come ur speaking for the pope here?!No hard feelings but did u write the speech together? Now he has met with muslim leaders from diff parts of the world and has promised solidarity and working together and says he respects islam...hasent he just conttradicted what u are trying to have me understand up here?

So its ok for any leader to say what he feels without thinking consequences?Esp one who holds such post?U see how many people attend his speeches...hundreds of thousands shown on tv everyday...so if he were to talk like that to such a vast number of people will we have peace really? He will certainly influence many people...thats why he was on the wrong.Should all islamic leaders start cursing christian churches in the mosques just coz they feel hatred for them?Do that and see what outcome will be there...if people will really live in peace since there will be alot of influence there.

UmmAmara, I've been away for a few days, so sorry I didn't respond
earlier.

I think you are misreading both my posts and ak-m-f

What made you feel I was apologising for the pope, in my post here?

I think there is a problem with your understanding of English, no
hard feelings, but you have WILLFULLY misunderstood, it seems.

I don't have the time nor patience to decipher plain English for you,
so just read with care, please, and without preconceptions. From
what I can understand of your posts, and the feeling I get, I am sure
we are actually in agreement over most things.

Except the part about ak-m-f being the forum joker: he is infact one
of the sanest and most enlightened of our contributors. If you prefer
to read his words as jokes, then you are bound to have problems
with him

Wel..it looks like we have a lot in common then...

I dont misunderstand english...i understand it very wel...if u call an english public speaker at the age of 7/best english student from 1st grade all thru to my last senior class, representer of ENGLISH debates both provincially,nationally...poem writer and reader, english actress, politics reader, crossword puzzle filler, scrabble enthusiastic player(...SIGH!...the list is endless.) a nincompoop.
A lizard does climb on a cocnut tree backwards....The likes of Chinua Achebe.

Il take things as the other way round...u people dont know how to express urselves. The english u use is quite different from the NORMAL DICTIONARY BASED english. At times u just have to accept ur mistakes rather than turn the tables round.Thomas Edison (Inventer of lightbulb....if the name duznt make any rings in ur crammed/congested/filled brain) said this when he failed:I have found 10,000 ways that wont work!...Maybe u shud borrow a leaf from this saying...it certainly has weight.

UmmAmara, you're too funny!

Expert in English eh? My, your modesty is compelling. You wrote:

"The english u use is quite different from the NORMAL DICTIONARY
BASED english."

If we all based our use of English on dictionaries rather than common
speech patterns, grammar and syntax we’d be in a fine pickle, now
wouldn’t we?
(Shall I translate that into Ugandan English? And no, I am not
assuming you’re Black, you could very well be blue and of Asian
decent, but I’d still find you hard to understand.)

So what happened to your spelling? For example, you've written:
Hasent
Conttradicted

your grammar:
Thats

Syntax and structure:
"if people will really live in peace since there will be alot of influence
there." (Pardon?)
"What do u expect the outcome?" (I think that should end with "to be"
...)

Duende...i was talking about dictionary based english...not grammar based english my dear.Thats why they have those little words they make up on the side of the real word in the dic to show its pronunciation.Whether u use the real one or the one that explains how u pronounce it,i dont really care coz verbally its right...thats why if u wrote with wrong spelling but the pronounciation and the flow of ur ebglish is correct, its OK...bcoz u have wel enough expressed urself.

I think that was a lame point to dwell on dont u think 'Lady Duende'?

I mostly like to shorten my words coz obviously no one is marking the posts...wel except if ur ofcoz...just dont let the english-flow be lost in ur answers.U mean to tel me u havent made a slight spelling error ever since u started here?...or shud i start digging ur posts for evidence?Wel...that was a rhetorical question,i really dont have the time for that.

Wanna talk about something else?I could start a thread just strictly for the 2 of us.

Suleyman I agree akmf's remarks are way out of line.

Akmf, that was a cheap shot, you don't have to insult this forum
member in this racist way.

UmmAmara seems to have a unique way of using English which I also
had a problem with at first, I'm a bit more tuned in to her flow now.
She has a 'sassy' voice, but she's young, and that's her style. She also
has a distinct African kind of approach to Islam I think none of us
here have been able to appreciate and some Brothers and Sisters are
being nasty about that.

I am ashamed to see such blatant racism and uncalled for attacks.

Dear Duende,

The issue is out of  the language skills neither being an distinct African nor on about her talking style...the issue is behind the scenes as an wise sister of you,you should have been realized, i believe now your heart has realized...

Uganda....Africa...poor life...lost hopes...abuses,lies...killings...starvings...being forgotten...paganism...disrespect...lost human rights...Islam...One Hope....the one they found at their ends...the one value they now have  in their whole life...the one way to escape...the first smile came after the cry of so many years...and now loudly speaks...take it back!....take it back!...take these words back!...

Seems like an mother cry while loosing her baby!...Islam is her baby and please let her being untouched by words...she has no obligation on being polite to Pope who  the one has the obligation on being polite to this world...

She closed her eyes to the world except Islam, because we are the African People who closed the file in this world only hoping from Allah...we are The African People saw the end of this world while you were not there, please forgive our voices coming up to you rude, please forgive us we are The African People coming in from the cold...please forgive us we were unable to read books and having our educations on science and sociology...we are coming in from the cold entering first steps to the happy days...please know that after these sincere rude voices our children will learn to move with wisdom and knowledge but please do not wait from us while trying to appear in the darkness....

Hanan: Is this really the “African approach to Islam?” I am deeply hurt
by being labeled a racist. I CAN NOT be a racist, believe me. I did not
intend to be nasty about UmmAmara‘s approach to Islam, I simply do
not believe certain things"

I reckon you have as good a nose as Whisper on such things and I
defer to your intuition. I did not mean to label you a racist,
nevertheless, I think it's unwise to proclaim oneself incapable of such
a thing. Unfortunately we are all capable, you only have to look at
situations such as the Tutsi/Hutu slaughters, and the current
situation in parts of Sudan.

And I'm thinking also of our aquaintance, the ineffable Mighty Foi,
who is engaged in some kind of revenge racism. A natural reaction, (I
guess they feel), from African Americans after so many years of
being subjected to it. (There's always an excuse for racist attitudes.)

It seems to me Islam is absorbed into different cultures along with
the cultural baggage of that culture, resulting in variations on a
theme which are sometimes shocking, to those whose understanding
of Islam is different. Who is to say how one should believe? Is islam
as understood in Saudi Arabia better, more Moslem, than the Islam
practised in Iran, Turkey, or a South London suburb?

Each one of us has a unique, personal interpretation of our beliefs
which doesn't confer the right to judge another's.

I wasn't sure what Suleyman was getting at, he has very generously
bestowed me with some wisdom I seem to have ignored! But I
question the use of a Rastafarian's song to explain the impact of
Islam on Africa .... ?

Long story Dear Duende,long story....

http://www.bobmarley.com/songs/ram/africaunite.ram">

Bob Marley

From "Survival", Bob Marley's most political LP at a time of increased political turbulence in Africa: in Angola and Mozambique fighting intensified, and in Zimbabwe the struggle was finally coming to a head.

On the "Survival" tour Bob Marley and The Wailers consciously opened their US dates at the legendary Apollo in Harlem. Bob felt that he hadn't been marketed sufficiently to black people; reggae, viewed condescendingly by many American blacks, appeared to be seen as a threat to r'n'b; getting on black radio was near impossible. After the Apollo shows, however, longstanding residents of Harlem claimed that the area had not buzzed like that since Marcus Garvey's time there. This was the desired effect: Bob was telling black people to wake up.

Africa, Unite
'Cause we're moving right out of Babylon
And we're going to our father's land

How good and how pleasant it would be
Before God and man, yeah
To see the unification of all Africans, yeah
As it's been said already let it be done, yeah
We are the children of the Rastaman
We are the children of the Higher Man

So Africa, Unite 'cause the children wanna
come home
Africa, Unite 'cause we're moving right
out of Babylon
And we're grooving to our father's land

How good and how pleasant it would be
Before God and Man
To see the unification of all Rastaman, yeah

As it's been said already let it be done
I tell you who we are under the sun
We are the children of the Rastaman
We are the children of the Higher Man

So, Africa, Unite, Africa, Unite
Unite for the benefit of your people
Unite for it's later than you think
Unite for the benefit of your children
Unite for it's later than you think

Africa awaits its creators, Africa awaiting
its creators
Africa, you're my forefather cornerstone
Unite for the Africans abroad, unite for
the Africans a yard
Africa, Unite

Okay Suleyman, I know Bob Marley was a powerfull figure for uniting
Black people everywhere, but he was not a figure in Islam, am I
wrong?

Rastafarianism, although it holds some admirable tenets, has
nothing to do with Islam. They believe the old King of Ethiopia, Haile
Salassi (the lion of Africa) was actually a god.

Sure Duende, you are right,no doubt...but i should remind you that you can't expect everyhing from every people,i just want to use the message of Bob for calling them to Islam,Bob(used to,so sad) and his followers has an great potential carrying their cells to entering to Islam with the message of Bob because they really love Bob and some part of his messages are really good fitting to Islam Soul,i am not supporting Rasta and it's stupid living style...all i imagine is on Bob's message for them....I have a Rasta friend from Chicago who goes to university, first we discussed on Bob and now she reads the four basics terms of Qur'an by Maulana Maududi, alhamdulilah when i appear on the msn she says as salam or alhamdulilah...

Same on me,i was also an university student when i listened Bob and my life was damned,no pray no ghusl and no knowledge inside my life i was really suffering then Bob appeared with his songs moved me to God then i found my way...

dEarEST hANAn,

These people here(suleyman+duende) who told u what they told u,had obviousy read the article from the start to the last...i dont remember answering to ur reply...but the way u just came up to interfere my conversation wit duende, obviously told me ur just looking for attention especially wat u wrote in ur reply. And u say that u dont care how much i say Allah's name, that i dont intimdate u?I am not here to intimdate anyone...its ur deeds in the end that wil count. On the Day of Judgement father shall know no son...so why would i want to intimdate u?The prophet said..the best thing u could for ur self is wet ur lips with rememberance for Allah SW...thats why i say it.NOT because i want to intimidate u.U seem to have very little knowledge in Islam otherwise u would not have an outburst like this.About Africa...anyone who reads the way u wrote ur article can say u were being racist...if am wrong plz go back to ur post and re-read it 2times and see how it sounds.U really dwell on uganda and u put it like i dont know where spain is...thats the problem with people who see africans low-class people like how akmf wrote that i should go back to beat drums on trees.I might live in africa but u dont know me,my father can be a rich man that he can buy the entire wealth u have 10times.Kenyan coffe and tea exports 90% of its produce worldwide...if u ask anyone who deals in that sector they can tel u that,so most probably the tea ur drinking right there, comes from the guys who beat drums on trees.Diamond&gold is mined in Tanzania&southafrica, cocoa, oil, tablemats, kikoys, sculptur es,to mention but afew comes from the people who beat drums on trees. So when people see us as low class they shud think twice bcoz we lowclass people provide most of the raw&ready made things people in canada,us,uk,europe&asia use. This is just a small educative paragraph about us africans.

I couldnt help notice but u seem to have an attitude...and by the way am a chic not a dude. Why are taking replies from different postings and putting them up here...its irrelevant because they flow in their own way, someone can interpret the msg badly yet when u read it from its original post its a harmless thought.U & akmf seemed to have concantenated together to act on where i come from thats why u c people think ur racist...ur posts seem to be that u support each other.

I see u apologzed...no harm taken.I accept that apology...coz saying sorry makes someone a better person.

Suleyman...thanx for stepping up...its good to see ur positve thots abt africans.Jazakallah.

Lady Duende,my offer still stands.

1) I will continue to “interfere” in any conversation on this forum whenever the mood strikes me,

2) you have my permission to give your full attention to everything I post on this forum, but I don’t insist on it. Actually, I would LOVE to be ignored by you.

are you sure it's not america to spain?

And u say that u dont care how much i say Allah's name, that i dont intimdate u?I am not here to intimdate anyone...

Yes you do. You’ve tried to intimidate AND actually threatened others here. And YES, you use Allah’s name in a most frivolous manner, especially to justify your threats and rude remarks, but that doesn’t intimidate me neither!

its ur deeds in the end that wil count. On the Day of Judgement father shall know no son...so why would i want to intimdate u?The prophet said..the best thing u could for ur self is wet ur lips with rememberance for Allah SW...thats why i say it.NOT because i want to intimidate u.U seem to have very little knowledge in Islam otherwise u would not have an outburst like this.

You, of all people, should not even attempt to lecture me or anyone else here. Again, you’re trying to intimidate and force people to submit to you and your immature ramblings. Guess WHO I SUBMIT TO ONLY … ?

About Africa... What makes you think that I care about your opinion on Africa?

anyone who reads the way u wrote ur article can say u were being racist...

If your command of the English language would be just a tad-bit better (or do you really pretend to intentionally “misunderstand”, as someone suggested?), then perhaps we could have a discussion on the subject of racism.

U really dwell on uganda and u put it like i dont know where spain is...

Once again, my dear correspondent for BBC, I must confess that I have not been able to find my two brief sentences to be “dwelling” on anything.

thats the problem with people who see africans low-class people like how akmf wrote that i should go back to beat drums on trees.

You, my intellectual late-bloomer, are not a “low-class African.” Please do not insult those Africans who are considered “low-class” by certain Herrenmenschen, and who are truly suffering from the abuses and cruelties of ignorant racists. I will not play the race-card game with you, no matter how hard you try and regardless of how many others here have fallen for your con-game.

I forgive AKMF for this ONE remark, and if you are a true Muslim than so should you, right? AKMF is “one of the sanest and most enlightened of our contributors,” to quote another forum member.

I might live in africa but u dont know me,

Yes, you MIGHT live in Africa, and hopefully I never will have the misfortune to personally know you, although in a way I do know you, because your kind lives everywhere.

my father can be a rich man that he can buy the entire wealth u have 10times.

Sure he can, but he is not, so why even write such juvenile, betraying-your-age, diatribe? Or should I said: “Not true, my daddy is richer than your daddy!” … to keep on your level of maturity?

Kenyan coffe and tea exports 90% of its produce worldwide...if u ask anyone who deals in that sector they can tel u that,so most probably the tea ur drinking right there, comes from the guys who beat drums on trees.Diamond&gold is mined in Tanzania&southafrica, cocoa, oil, tablemats, kikoys, sculptur es,to mention but afew comes from the people who beat drums on trees.

Please do not steal the laurels of others, my “Ugandan” friend. What does Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa have to do with Uganda? We are “dwelling” on Uganda, remember? And while we’re on the subject of dwelling … for how long exactly would you like us to dwell on the “beating of the drums against trees” until you are satisfied that we are sufficiently guilt-ridden, apologetic and submissive?

Lastly, I would like to reinforce AKMF’s suggestion to you in his post from 26 September 2006 at 1:27pm

Hanan:
I say, you have a home run here. You did not offend anybody so far as I can see. Your responses are right on the money.

What I see is Suleyman threw a curve ball in with Bob Marley's /Rasta tangent and clouded the issue/thread. Being a senior member I would expected better.
His philosophizing about Bob Marley here is misplaced that was irresponsible at best and self serving at worst looking at the nature of the thread. The discussion went from  Pope about Muhammad to Marley, then to Ugandan guilt trip. Come on guys, wake up

Hanan, I think the guilty party here the one who has language comprehension issues which have been pointed out in so many scholarly ways by Duende with charm & wit but to no avail. After all this is an American site and lack of proper traits would be an impediment to optimum communication over the net. There will always be problems no matter who is involved.

I would say Suleyman needs to revisit his post and appologise to you for his muddying up the water/coffee or whatever.
Hanan: Are you in legal field? if not try it
Keep up the good work.

Thanks, I hope there won't be another round in this mode. As a matter of fact I am still appalled, that Allah and expletives being used together in the same post. I thought Americans were tops in using the kind of language but now after this I can be truely proud of my own kids by comparison, honestly.
If  sarcasm is beyond someone's comprehension, one can just stay out of the discussion instead of butting head and then some---
Anyways  thanks for understanding and forgiving me--
salam o alaikum and Ramadhan Mubruk
Is the cutie your daughter?
