One of the several Washington’s propaganda myths is its rhetoric of accusation other nations for the ‘Human Rights’ violations while supporting and protecting the same regimes – especially among the Muslim nation-states and Israel. US Department, incidentally, its own criteria of judging others while ignoring its own Human Rights abuses inside the country itself. The ‘icing on the cake’ is the recent law signed by Bush, which now allows the USSD to discriminate any nation, which doesn’t be friendly with Jews.

Recently, in a ‘tit-for-tat’ – China has put a mirror in front of Bush’s Zionist-administration.

What is 'stupid' dear?

Bush or the law or the US's unpatriotic favouritism toward Zionist state of Israel?

Assalamu Alaikum All  Brothers and sisters alike!

Interesting view point stated sister Rehmat, the only thing is that the US has the current ability to get away with the passing of such laws wether you, me or the whole world has a problem with it. Being the current super power, it has already been made clear that the US has no real respect or regard to any authorities set up in the world that are supposedly in place for the protection of human rights etc like the UN for example.

With such a total disregard is it any wonder why such policies are set in place unchallenged? What good would a challenge do other than to voice an opinion that will ultimately fall on deaf ears?

This is not yet another attack on the west as some may infer, its a criticism of the US policies when it comes to trivial matters of...oh...just the state of the world!

The total and complete disrespect the US has for the UN policies is not the greatest of examples to set for less advanced countries, and if God forbid such countries were to follow in the footsteps of the US, they would have the biggest 'bull dog' on its tail (namely the US). Another example of a sickening hypocrisy.

However, instead of us, Muslims, focusing on the west and its, in my opinion, nihilistic policies, we should focus on our Ummah, strengthen it and become the best that we as Muslims can be. Work for our Ummah, help it advance in all areas, such as education, science and technology. Become self suffcicient in all areas. We have the greatest 'weapon' on our sides, Islam. And not only that, Allah (swt) is with us, what more could we possibly need for right guidance?

Hope I made some sense!

Salam

Oh your comment makes sense - but it also remind me an interview on CBC in 2001 after the US occupied Afghanistan.

The moderator asked his guest Eric Margolos (a Jew columnist at Toronto Sun):

"If Muslim countries tries to unite - would the West allow them to do that in our life time?"

"Never, because then they could pose a greater threat to Israel," - replied Eric.

Wa Salaam.

By then Muslim armies, despite being ill-equipped, less in numbers and suffering from siege for many months, had till then not lost their spirit. at the time they were fearful of of the christian armies who they assumed would not leave a single muslim alive. while on one hand Abu Abdullah minister, Abul Qasim abdull malik was instructed to visit ferdinand secretly, on the other, the christian leaders were busy  in bribing the local populace under the garb of friendship. Abdull Qasim used to meet christian leaders in the dark of the night outside the castle to chalk out clauses of the peace agreement which guaranteed so called future peace for muslim of Gharnata.........more

In return, abu abdullah was promised special concessions. When the muslim masses and the army got news of the peace agreement with its humiliating conditions, they revolted.Fearing lest his peace agrement may fall through and in desperation that muslims may resort to mutiny, Abu abdullah treacherously sent a word to the christian armies to capture Gharnata and Al-hamrah. As soon as christian armies entered gharnata on jan. 2, 1492, Abu Aabdullah  was arrested from Al-hamra together with his familly and supporters.

On seing the conquering armies enter Gharnata, Abu Abdullah got down from his horse, held its reins in his hand and most humbly handed over the keys of the city to the christian, saying,"These Keys are the last symbols of muslim power in Spain".Take them because according to God's pre-determination, our lives, our and our possessions are all yours. I hope you will deal with us in the manner you promised." Ferdinand assured Abu Abdullah  that "He will fullfill all promises made to muslims" By that time A silver cross was displayed on the highest point of Al-hamra and gradual but discreet process was initiated to Remove Vestiges of a 781 year old Muslim Ruled over Spain.

Guaranteed Muslim...

.Protection of person and property:

.Their right to practice their religion:

.To wear their local costume:

.To speak their own language:

.To adopt their rites and celebrate their festivals:

.To decide their matters according to the Shari'ah;

.Their custody shall remain over Mosques and Auqaf; and No Tax will be deducted from muslims for Urce years and even aftter that no new tax will be imposed.

It is suprising that Muslim rulers believed that their erstwhile enemies would ever keep such tall promises. How ever, such expectation by muslims on their sworn enemy were by no means unprecedented. Muslim history is replete with many such instances.

That's true - but don't forget that we, Muslims' too have to accept our own faults in this matter too. It's our own 'enemies within' - the sectarians and the puppet elites who are in league with the Kufr to keep Muslim Ummah backward and colonized in one or the other way. The only way to usher our golden era - we have to clean our societies of these religious and ethnic Mafia and our secularist elites.

[jalillah/QUOTE] yes this is what will happen to muslim who gives up or sells islam for such little degree or less to nothing..and giving god less of the benefit of the doubt.. because of mear fear that their lives would be taken away.. it was a test from alllah whether any muslim really has faith in Gods promise, like of those who oppressed them obviously they where more stronger in their belief than of those muslims. that muslim  gave in on their enemy that easy... but how easy did the enemy gave up on them? is another question!
