The oil producing countries should use the oil profit to develop alternative energy sources. I mean - they're some of the sunniest countries in the world! Solar energy should be a doddle!

Oil companies and oil-hungry countries have long prevented people from ploughing lots of money and time and research into alternative energy sources because of their greed, stupidity and short-sightedness. (Did you know in some cities in the USA many decades ago, oil companies bought the cities' railway systems and shut them down, so people had to depend on cars?) The oil-rich countries should reverse this idiocy by devoting some of their HUGE profits to researching and developing non-oil fuels. 

Then they can sell these in order to reduce the world's dependance upon oil, to reduce the world's pollution and to reduce the power of the countries that depend so completely upon oil.
