"Investigators probing interrogation abuses at the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay have confirmed some infractions alleged in internal FBI e-mails that surfaced late last year. Among the previously unreported cases, sources tell NEWSWEEK: interrogators, in an attempt to rattle suspects, flushed a Qur'an down a toilet and led a detainee around with a collar and dog leash."

While I find the U.S. soldiers desecration of the Qur'an reprehensible, I have to admit that I find it even sadder that Muslim Brothers and Sisters died in Afghanistan protesting those U.S. actions.

Please, please, please take the time today to call (preferable!), fax, email, or write President Bush, Secretary of State Rice, and your local congressmen about this issue.  As Americans and Muslims, we must demand that our holy book be respected.
