Muslims don't believe that Jesus was Christian. Muslims believe he was Muslim and those that followed him were Muslims.  So when the Quran refers to followers of Jesus, it certainly doesn't refer to Christians.

Besides if you ever picked up a history book and read the exploits of the so called "compassionate" Christians, you will find a lot of blood-letting.  From the Crusades, to the Genocide of Native Americans to the Holocaust, Christian hands are stained with blood just like everyone else.
