Our political process has developed a scenario
that depicts a very large fundementalistic Islamic group as the enemy.
This scenario justifies our continuing fear of Islam and our presence
in Iraq. While there is a fundementalist Islamic contingent,
there is also a fundementalistic Christian contingent that is in my mind equally frightening. Speaking only about those on the far right in any religious tradition does not really help anyone. It
changes the conversation and really stops neccesary conversations.
