As I say, I can love muslims even though I don't share their faith in the quran.  I see much in their ways, the values that I value so much.  (I only wish they had the ability to see that same beauty in me and my way of life... that it matches theirs, even though I do not profess Islam.)  It is all in how the faith is practiced.  I think it matters where you are raised, and where you live.
I have never had such a skewed view that this speaker had when she first met with muslims.  I have always known the greater beauty, and the lesser beauty, of the people.  It is the scriptures that have the power to mislead as it depends on who the leader is, and how that leader chooses to use the scriptures, since the people are bound to their leader by their religion.  It is in how leaders lead that matters.
