simple question (I posted this question under Muhammad, but it was not permitted.  I am hoping maybe this forum will be allowed.)

Please someone tell me why they believe in Muhammad as a prophet of God.
Why does his teaching supercede, in a Muslim's mind, all the teaching of thousands of years of witnesses and history?  What proof is there of Muhammad and his claims?

Assalamu alaika Caringheart.

Describing Muhammad as a prophet means he tells you what the G-d of Abraham tells him about what happened before him.
His teaching does not supercede technically what was revealed to him. Rather it was a similar simplified teaching. His teaching differed from previous one that is the Torah in only going for the pilgrimage. You can get more information from: http/sbpra.com/allamadrsanisalihmustapha.

Thank you friendship, for trying to answer, but I want to know... for you personally... what has you convinced of Muhammad as prophet of God?
Thanks again.

Dear Caringheaart.

It is a long story. You see I am a scientist. I view everything on scientific way and basis. For example a chain link. It is a link due to its continuity. It has number o chains. If one link is absent it is defective. If I believe in Adam why should I not believe in Muhammad, if he told me  about Adam and that he is also a prophet as Adam. Try to read that book.

Caringheart,
from a believer's perspective, for me its simple. Prophet Mohammed's (pbuh) message, it's simplicity and universality is the main reason to know that he was a true prophet of God. In the time when humanity was in need of direction, his call to bring us back to the worship and service of One God our Creator has the most profound affect on hearts of believers like myself. Also what has come to be known as revelations or word of God, the Quran, it turns out to be of such a great value while he was an ordinary man who did not know to read and write. It is a Miracle and only God can make happen such miracles. Thus no doubt, God is behind choosing him as a prophet giving him the Quran, a guide for mankind like many prophets and their books before to lead man into the right way and out of error.
I know its a very vast topic like others have said, but this is my short answer to your question, I hope it helps.
Hasan

Well then that would just mean that if I told you about David, and said I am like David, then it must be so...
Or if I told you about Mary, and said I am like Mary... this does not make it so.
This is not scientific,
this is not logical.

I will do my best to read what you suggest.
Thanks.
I still would prefer a personal testimony as to your own heart. Heart

I do appreciate your answer Hasan.
Have you considered that as a child, as he traveled with his uncle, that Muhammad heard the Psalms as they were chanted and that he came to know the Word of God this way?  That the beauty of the Qur'an comes from the beauty of the Psalms, God's Word?
It was common practice for the Psalms to be chanted throughout the day at that time, as the Monks went about their business of tending the farms. (This is where the practice of 'prayer beads' in the Christian faith came from.  It is how they counted off the Psalms as they chanted them)
Have you considered that is where the idea of 'call to prayer' originated?  From hearing the beauty of the Psalms being sung out for all to hear.
I have considered these things. Heart
