AsSalaamUlaikum...i have been muslim for over 17 years (american revert), and i have a question concerning wudu and i cant seem to find the answer anywhere? i was taught that any type of bleeding (from a cut or injury) breaks your wudu??? can anyone answer this for me?

Salam,
Peace, bleeding because cut not break your wudhu. Bleeding that break wudhu is menstruation for women. That's all.

I think different madhabs (schools of thought) have different rulings about whether or not cuts invalidate one's wudhu. It also depends on how much you bled...
Unfortunately I am not aware of the answer. However I was always taught that vomitting a mouthful or bleeding (through cut) invalidates the wudhu....however the blood has to flow out. For e.g. if you scratched a pimple or pricked a finger, it does not invalidate the wudhu. But then again, this is how I was taught (which is most probably the Hanafi school of thought). |
