Meteors are useful for meteorology and weather forecasting. 

Most people have seen one of them during a dark night at least once in their lifetime. They cut through the black sky with their lovely colors. One can almost feel disappointed every time they pass by because of their speed for wanting to have a better glimpse of them.
Meteoroids (which are refered to as meteors if they become visible in the sky, or meteorites if they make it to the ground) are composed of chemicals that existed during the formation of our solar system which may have been a crucial source of the organic chemical compounds that gave rise to life on Earth.

Their diameters range between hundreds of micrometers to tens of meters. Beside visual observations, meteors can also be detected by sending radio waves towards them and capturing them back as they bounced off their trails. Meteors are useful for meteorology and weather forcasting as we can measure atmospheric density as well as wind speed and direction by measuring the decay rate of a meteor's trail.
The color of a meteoroide depends upon its chemical composition. Orange and yellow, for instance, are caused by sodium; yellow can also be caused by iron; blue and green come from copper; purple comes for potassium, and red comes from silicate.

	rightly said, had it been past our ancestors would have believed it be something from heaven, but now every things proven otherwise..

	They might be just rocks but they are still useful in forecasting our weather and climate that makes us leave peacefully and in comfort.

	Meteors are useful for meteorology and weather forecasting. Ummm, no they aren't. At first I thought this was a joke, but apparently it needs some explaining. The words "meteor" and "meteorology" share the same Greek origin, but they have nothing to do with one another aside from that. Meteorology is the study of weather, and meteors (rocks falling from space) have absolutely nothing to do with weather. (Well, aside from a few huge "extinction-level" meteor impacts in the mostly distant past that have been violent enough to cause planet-wide effects, but that's a whole 'nother story.)

	Assalamu Alaikum/Peace be upon you, The article mentions: “Meteors are useful for meteorology and weather forcasting as we can measure atmospheric density as well as wind speed and direction by measuring the decay rate of a meteor's trail.” Perhaps we may conclusively explore it further, applying other reliable sources and means at our disposal. Regardless of the outcome of such an investigation, the primary objective to post the article was to contemplate over one of the countless blessings of the Creator and the Sustainer of the universe.
