I have long admired the exquisite silver items made in Iran/persia, but being a man of modest means I could never afford to add them to my small collection.

So I was very happy when I got the chance to buy this piece, which has all the quality of the finest silversmiths skills but has been made in copper.

However, I am unsure what it was made for.

Could you please have a look and see if you know?

It is around 14inches/35cm tall so quite big.
