Salams, brothers and sisters. What are we talking about?Establishing Shariah in the U.S for us not them,Respecting the laws of the U.S. pick a topic.I dont know where any of you stay in your country, state, town ,city, providence, ect.I believe Abuayisha you live somewhere in California am I right?Have you ever visited places like Watts or Compton?Have any of you ever went on Dawah missions in gang and drug infested nieborhoods? Places where these so called authorities or law enforcers allow this type of corruption to exist.Playing the ringleader in the flow of drugs I can go on and on about corrupt cops.Imam Luqman was against this,he has been shot at before and you brothers are telling me about him breaking the law, please you should have seen the nieborhood were his Masjid is before he got there. They killed a good Muslim, may he rest in peace.May Allah change our conditions. May Allah raise our ranks.May Allah Bless us.

"Places where these so called authorities or law enforcers allow this type of corruption to exist."
Even if there were a conspiracy to allow drugs and gangs, are residents without fault whatsoever? Are parents without blame for their children? Drug and alcohol dependency is solely the fault of the establishment? Yeah, I live in Los Angeles and I'm very much aware of troubled areas of the city, as most other residents - especially those living there.

Salams,
Thanks SteppeNomad and abuayisha for answering my question. Bro Akhe, maybe some of us haven't experienced such things as happen in your district, though I am sure we are not so ignorant to know that bad stuff happens. I think all we are trying to say is that no matter how tough it gets, no matter how corrupt others are we should still try to follow the laws. Two wrongs do not make a right. And maybe the full truth about what happened to your friend will surface in time.I am sure no-one here means any offence. Peace |

Salams,Abuayisha and Martha JazakAllah Khieran for your replies.Martha: says no matter how corrupt others are we should try to follow the laws,(I agree)also I would like to add a senario: if you were someone who has had threats on your and your families life, you have a right to protect yourself, fist to a fist sword for a sword gun for a gun.Im not advocating anything that is illegal but, im saying i understand personal experience that when you are having people shooting at you trying to kill you and the law says you cant legally own a fire arm because you were a convicted felon(notice were) this law is irrelevent(to me) when you must protect yourself your family and your property again im not advocating anything illegal this is just how I see it, to me there are two sides of this coin (in some cases )these laws have flaws and you have to use your own judgement the Quran says that we should'nt be the agressers.Nor in so many words we should'nt be no punk either. The Qur'an says we have a right to protect ourselves.Abuayisha do you know there are communities where our brothers dont allow the drugs to be sold, and they help spread Islam in these communities and they become enimes of the drug dealers and gangs and also the authorities because they dont involve them.Any group that spead ideals that they deem un American/anti government are targets of law enforcement they send people to spy on us possing as Muslims,Al-Qur'an Surah 49 ayah 12 says:O believers!Avoid immoderate suspicion, for,in some cases, suspicion is a sin.Do not spy on one another, nor backbite one another(to say something about another behind oness back that if one hears it,dislikes it). Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Surely, you would abhor it.Fear Allah;for Allah is the Accepter of repentance,Merciful. We as Muslims have a duty to convey the message.May Allah accept my intentions. May Allah please have Mercy on us.May Allah Bless us.

Salams,
You know, there is no easy answer to your question. Of course I would want to protect my family if they were at risk. However I guess it depends how I went about it. When we are mad we do stuff we regret. And there are consequences for that, often legal ones. Whilst defending family or property we are often the ones that get prosecuted not the perpetrator, In effect we then become the perpetrator. True, laws have flaws, thats the nature of man not God. I could stand firm on my beliefs and put my own life on the line, but as for taking anothers based on my religion alone then I doubt I could do that. But that's just my view. |

I think its best we wish this person the best wishes, and make dua for him and ourselves, brother akheAbu, sorry if i sounded harsh, nothing was aimed at the brother who passed away, insallah his in a better place now, i just think we should not break the law regardless of the situation we are in, unless our land, honour and livelyhood is being played with or under threat.
But everyone has different ways, different upbringing and surrounding, way of thinking and solving a situation. At the end of the day, he was a human, and at least from a Muslim prospective, he was Muslim. May Allah bless him, and make it easy for family and people who love him.
Forgive me if i sounded to harsh and hurt you.

Salams Akhe,
Nice story:) You obviously will keep many good memories of him. You know, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what anyone says about him, he was your friend :) Odd world really. There is little justice. Innocent people can be found guilty, guilty people can go free. Guess thats life. BUt we DO fight emotionally and physically sometimes for our friends regardless, and that is commendable. Have a good day bro :) |
