It is prescribed for the one who wants to offer a sacrifice, when the month of Dhu’l-Hijjah begins, that he should not remove anything from his hair, nails or skin until he has offered the sacrifice, because of the report narrated by the group apart from al-Bukhaari (may Allaah have mercy on them), from Umm Salamah (may Allaah be pleased with her), that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When you see the new moon of Dhu’l-Hijjah, and one of you wants to offer a sacrifice, let him refrain from (removing anything) from his hair or nails.” According to a version narrated by Abu Dawood, Muslim and al-Nasaa’i: “Whoever has a sacrifice to offer, when the new moon of Dhu’l-Hijjah begins, let him not remove anything from his hair or nails until he has offered the sacrifice” – whether he is going to slaughter the sacrifice himself or has asked someone else to slaughter it on his behalf.

The person intend to do sacrifice in this month do more and more sacrifice of animals(Qurbani).

There are three Mustahibs and two wajibs in this month and more are in the first ten days of Zilhaja.

Mustahibs-

1) Do not cut your nails and hairs since the moon appear till you sacrifice the animal.

2)Do fasting in the first nine days.The reward of one day fasting is equal to one year fasing and the reward of 9th Zilhaja is equal to two years fasting.All together it is become ten years reward.

3) Do nafl ebadah at all nights of first ten days.Atleast perfomed the esha and fagr prayers with Jamah.The reward of one night is equal to the reward of Lailatul Qadr.

Wajibs-

1) Recite Talbiya once after every fard prayer from 8th to 14th Zilhaja.(Pls. correct the dates if they are wrong)

2) Performed Qurbani if it is wajib.

May Allah give all of us the taufiq to cash in this great rewards which is coming so easily.

Fasting on which of these days of Dhul-Hijjah expiates the sins that were committed during that year, and those that will be committed in the following year?

First moon-sighting for Dhul-Hijjah was in South Africa on 17 November, Tuesday. Saudi announced Eid-al-Adha on Friday, November 27.

Muslim, Book 006, Number 2603:

Abu Qatada al-Ansari (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was asked about his fasting. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) felt annoyed. Thereupon 'Umar (Allah be pleased with him) said: We are pleased with Allah as the Lord, with Islam as our Code of Life, with Muhammad as the Messenger and with our pledge (to you for willing and cheerful submission) as a (sacred) commitment. He was then asked about perpetual fasting, whereupon he said: He neither fasted nor did he break it, or he did not fast and he did not break it. He was then asked about fasting for two days and breaking one day. He (the Holy Prophet) said: And who has strength enough to do it? He was asked about fasting for a day and breaking for two days, whereupon he said: May Allah bestow upon us strength to do it. He was then asked about fasting for a day and breaking on the other, whereupon he said: That is the fasting of my brother David (peace be upon him). He was then asked about fasting on Monday, whereupon he said: It was the day on which I was born. on which I was commissioned with prophethood or revelation was sent to me, (and he further) said: Three days' fasting every month and of the whole of Ramadan every year is a perpetual fast. He was asked about fasting on the day of 'Arafa (9th of Dhu'I-Hijja), whereupon he said: It expiates the sins of the preceding year and the coming year. He was asked about fasting on the day of 'Ashura (10th of Muharram), whereupon he said: It expiates the sins of the preceding year.

Had been waiting and waiting for the answers. In short the lessons we learn are :

The deep trust of both the prophets,{father & son}, Ibrahim and Ismael AS and their willingness to sacrifice and complete submission to Allah's will is a big and important lesson for us.

Trials in life bring inner purification, and serves as the practical training and test of our faith.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “All the descendants of Adam are sinners, and the best of sinners are those who repent."

Which is the place on the earth when prostrations are allowed all the 24 hours. {There are certain times during the day, wherein we are not allowed not to prostrate, generally}
