Assalamualaikum,

Almighty Allah has blessed us with a girl. We wanted to give her a Sahabiya name and selected SAMAITA AL-LAISA which we found in the list of sahabiya given in a book. We are not sure about the authenticity of the book.

Would you help us by providing the information that wether we have selected a sahabiya name, meaning of the name SAMAITA AL-LAISA and also a brief introduction this sahabiya.

Dear Brother,

Assalaualaikum. I also named my daughter ,Samaita. She was born in Sep, 2007. Please let me know if you found meaning of that name?

I really want to help but I could not read the name in Arabic with this spelling. Could you please write it in Arabic?
Or al least, could you make sure of its spelling?

I am sorry, I dont have any arabic font in my pc and I dont know how to write using english keyboard. SAMAITA is her name. I have found SAMMAITA somewhere in Haadis book. Do you what is the meaning of SAMMAITA? Also please let me know the meaning of SAMAITA. Thanks for your cooperation.

Asslamu Alaikum brothers,

I think I have got the name in Arabic. Yes this is a name of sahabia. And a great sahabia. She is the mother of Ammar Bin Yaser,may Allah be pleased with him. She was the first woman who was killed for Islam because she converted. This sahabia name in Arabic is سمية , which means the bright, the woman who has a high rank. Smile

We read it Sumaiata or sumaiah.
I really appreciate your trying to choose the sahabia names. That is really great. May Allah reward you. They say that every one will take something form his/her name. So I hope your daughters are high ranks in everything.
