Pls be more elaborate in what you want to know. We'd be happy to chip in and share our info with you. . . . However, your question is too general and will neeed a very detailed essay type response :) . I hope you know what I mean.
Regards,

I agree with Chrysallis. Kindly, elaborate, as its a very deep and expansive topic. But in short the rights and responsibilities of a woman are equal to those of a man but they are not necessarily identical with them. This difference is understandable because man and woman are not identical but they are created equals.

Assalaamu Alaikum
How to prove to non-Muslims that mistreating one's wife is a sin in Islam and that there are punishments in the next life (i.e, the husband will receive such and such punishment for being unjust with his wife)? Edited by Mahmud200 - 05 January 2011 at 6:38am |

As-Salamu `alaykum. A husband who did not fulfill the requirements of his wife will get the punishment, Allah, the Exalted, says in the Glorious Qur'an: (Among His signs is that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find tranquility in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy.) [30:21] The Qur'an states: "And among His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves that you may live in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy between you; Verily, in that are signs for people who reflect." (30:21) A wife's rights also extend beyond material needs. She has the right to kind treatment. The Prophet (pbuh) said: "The most perfect believers are the best in conduct. And the best of you are those who are best to their wives." God tells us He created mates and put love, mercy, and tranquility between them. |
