And the reason was, that his wife, Prophet Muhammad's daughter was sick. . . and he stayed home to care for her. I forgot her name.

Subhanallah, how many husbands today take a day off to care for sick wives?

As Salamu Alaikum

That was a good discussion "friendship" and "chrysallis". Jazakumullahu Khayr. Yes, she was Ruqayya RA, and this couple was known as best couple then. After returning from battle of Uhud, Uthman RA had the privilege to get married to an other daughter of our Prophet.

As Salamu Alaikum

Abdul Mutallib's real name was Shaiba. And he had ten sons and six daughters. I had to check out for there names and found these

Abdul-Muttalib had ten sons, Al-Harith, Az- Zubair, Abu Talib, ‘Abdullah,
Hamzah, Abu Lahab, Ghidaq, Maqwam, Safar and Al-‘Abbas.

He also had six daughters, who were Umm Al-Hakim – the only white one, Barrah, ‘Atikah, Safiya, Arwa and Omaima. [Rahmat- ul-lil'alameen 2/56,66; Talqeeh Fuhoom Ahl Al-Athar, p8,9]

Alhamdulillahi. Correct. But according to my source by Martin Lings he had 13 sons.

The next question: Who amongst them was the most beloved and what did he intend to do with him and why could he not do so?
