America is ready to elect son of Abel over son of Cain (who the Xtians think is a closet Muslim) as it's leader, not a sign of Xtian times! Is it? What do you smoke that makes you think that the house of God (that was used by the Abraham and his first son Ishmael) that you haven't seen as an idol? The problem the Xtians have is even after the doggone Brits and other Europeans colonizing the whole Muslim world they could not convert the Muslims to Xtianity! robin;;; now you think your saying this will surely amount to hill of beans! With Allah's grace and blessings in response to Abraham's prayers the precinct of Kabbah is the most flourishing place in the world 24x7! Your bad mouthing notwithstanding! A warning:: you will reap what you will sow! Aren't you and your ilk are burning with jealousy that you don't have place like that in the world almost like a homeless persons running all over the globe for some peace and not able to find it! Your preachers molest little boys and little girls and then the Church gets sued and pays millions with other peoples money! ![]() Your preachers have homosexual acts and visit prostitutes and break the commandments and tell Jesus died for you! ![]() Your pastors are conducting the marriages of women to women and men to men and tell Jesus died for you!![]() They are asking people to vote against the prop # 8 (protect the marriage definition of man and woman) of there are some for it! ![]() They are for the war and not peace in ME! more later>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Edited by Sign*Reader - 01 November 2008 at 3:19pm |

Kissing the stone is like Christians who kiss icons. I am Antiochan Orthodox Christian. We kiss the icons to show our love and respect. Do you have a picture of a loved one....perhaps a dear one who has died? Do you ever lovingly look at, or hold that picture, maybe even kiss it in memeory of that person.....?
It's the same thing.
It ISN"T worship to express our devotion physically toward a reverred thing that leads us to God, the only true object worthy of worship.

great effort toward understanding. I may add however that the kissing of the black stone at Kabba is in no way similar to Christian kissing or adoring an icon or statue of Jesus, Mary or the saints. The black stone absolutely is not an icon or statue in representation of any living or dead person nor of God.
It only marks the place where the first house of worship to One and Only God was errected and people kiss or touch it only to the idea that it was placed, touched and may be kissed by prophets of Islam from Adam to Abraham to Mohammed (pbut).

Robin,
I don't think so. Because it is not even close. Catholics as far as I know have statues of Jesus, Mary and a whole lot of saints in their homes. These are representations of those who ate, walked on this earth. They have these statues also in their churches. They bow down, kneel, kiss, pray and sometimes present offerings to them as if that person (of that statue) was alive.
On the other hand, the black stone is not a representation of any living or dead person or being, period.
Many Muslims like myself has never even seen or know about the black stone. But we know God and we worship him without any image in mind or in front of us. While a Catholic is not a Catholic until he/she do all of that I described above.
So please get over the rhetoric, its not the same.

Hasan I do not agree as it is just like to Pope kissing the lifeless cross around his neck!

Hasan "While a Catholic is not a Catholic until he/she do all of that I described above." Will you stop with your ignorant, unadulterated lying garbage !!! If I based my understanding of Islam on the way many Muslims behave - yourself dear Hasan included here, I'd be as lost with it all, as you most definitely are about true Catholicism. You need to do some proper and serious research. One thing you certainly 'idolise' is that pathetic over inflated ego of yours. Shame on you !!! I am gonna be keeping an eye on you from now on :-) |
