Thanks for bringing that to my attention, believer. John 3:18 clearly contradicts what I had said in my prevous post. As I interpret it, if you don't believe in "the name of God's one and only Son" (not just His teachings, but Jesus by name), then you are condemned (to Hell), regardless of how you live your life.

I understand this as those that don't believe that Jesus was sent as our saviour will be judged by the Law of GOD. Jesus was sent for the sinners, not the righteous. If you can follow ALL the Laws of GOD then you are ok.

So now I'm confused! That's what I used to think, but John 3:18 doesn't say that. It doesn't say that those who don't believe in Jesus will be judged by God's laws or any other laws, it says that they will be condemned -- in fact that they are already condemned.

Ron- Because it is impossible for us to follow GOD's Law. We are not holy enough. We don't know how righteous is righteous enough to match GOD's holiness. Jesus is our safety net.

I believe that one does not have to believe that Jesus is GOD, but that He was sent to us from GOD as Saviour. Denying Jesus' crucifixion is denying the huge sacrifice given to us as a gift of grace from GOD.

I don't know how but Jesus is GOD's WORD made flesh, His Son. Words, written word is what makes us different from all the other intelligent mammls on earth.

Just as our words are a part of us-think how powerful words are. They can stab with hatred and comfort ones in despair.

Hi believer

Jesus has always been God's Spokesman, so when he came to the earth God's Spokesman or Word became human or "the word" (God's spokesman) became flesh.-John Ch 1

I don't think anyone is trying to match God's holiness, in fact none can match God's holiness, and we don't try to reach that.

You can know if you try, that Jesus was a walking talking word of God, just as we say the prophet (pbuh) was a walking talking Quran. Jesus was a walking talking Injeel for his time. That's what " a word proceeding from God" means. One who proclaimed the Word of God.

If you will let yourself be tangled in a maze of tricky phrases with not explaination or a outlet, you would not........make any sense out of it, let alone to explain to others.

Don't let the difficulties or ego make you to settle for anything less than what's clear and the truth, thus the only way out.

That's a new one. You are distorting facts. I am a Muslim and as far as I know this is not how we Muslims believe.

We are very careful with words, niether we play with them, not distort them.

Let me simply say, in a Muslims' words what you tried to say in your own words. Here is the correction, please make a note:

Muslims believe that Mohammed (pbuh) was God's final messanger to mankind who was given the word of God, the Quran.

In fact all of God's prophets were sent for the same purpose, to bring guidance for those who went stray.

The Quran:

2:213 ALL MANKIND were once one single community; [then they began to differ - ] whereupon God raised up the prophets as heralds of glad tidings and as warners, and through them bestowed revelation from on high, setting forth the truth, so that it might decide between people with regard to all on which they had come to hold divergent views. Asad(2,197) Yet none other than the selfsame people who had been granted this [revelation] began, out of mutual jealousy, to disagree about its meaning after all evidence of the truth had come unto them. But God guided the believers unto the truth about which, by His leave, they had disagreed: for God guides onto a straight way him that wills [to be guided]. Asad(2,198)
