Rice with Vermicelli
Rice with Vermicelli -  Pasta/Rice - Recipes Ref: 166
Quick & Easy cooking Book - Origin: Syrian

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Vermicelli ( about 1/2 doz. pieces cut into 1-2" lengths)
  • 1/4 cup Margarine or butter
  • 1 cup Uncooked rice
  • 2 & 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Salt

Preparation:

Brown vermicelli in the margarine. Rinse rice in cold water, drain and sauté with vermicelli for a few minutes. 
Add water and salt, cover, and cook for 20 minutes on medium heat, then simmer for 5 minutes.
When done, rice and vermicelli should be tender.
