Rice Pilaf
Rice Pilaf - Pasta/Rice - Recipes Ref: 165
Sr. Saira - Origin: Pakistan

Ingredients:

  • 1 & 1/2 cup Rice (soaked in hot water)
  • 1/2 cup cut vermicelli (Sipa)
  • 2 & 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1 tsp Salt

Preparation:

Brown vermicelli in butter.  Add drained rice.  Stir over medium heat for 1 minute.  Stir in salt and water.  Turn to high, bring to boil.  Cover and simmer on low for 20-25 minutes.
*For color and a sweet tart taste add a 1/2 cup of raisins (or dried cranberries--found in the dried fruit section of grocery store.)
