In the name of God, the beneficent the merciful

IslamiCity Advertiser

"Awaken your heart to kindness and mercy for the people and love and tenderness for them. Never, never act with them like a predatory beast which seeks to be satiated by devouring them, for the people fall into two categories: they are either your brethren in faith or your kindred in creation … Do not ever say, 'I have been given authority' or 'My command should be obeyed.' Because it corrupts the heart, consumes one's faith, and invites calamities."

- Ali ibn Abi Talib

Forgiveness: A Prophetic Example
The compelling conditions of our time offer human society two paths to choose from. We will either continue past enmities and stereotypes, or we will learn how to live in peaceful coexistence. It is a world of global connectedness, and in order to make peace sustainable, we need to develop new paradigms of peaceful engagement. The example of the Prophet Muhammad presents us with many such paradigms that we can adapt to our current circumstances.
Who on Earth is Faultless?
Allah the Almighty makes clear that people who make mistake, but then return to Him in sincerity and ask for forgiveness, will be forgiven. As long as believers are sincerely sorry for what they have done, they must never lose hope in Allah’s mercy regardless of the sin’s magnitude. This truth is emphasized in the following verse: “My servants, you who have transgressed against yourselves, do not despair of Allah’s mercy. Truly Allah forgives all wrong actions. He is the Ever-Forgiving, the Most Merciful. (Az-Zumar 39:53)
The Prophet said: “All the children of Adam constantly err, but the best of those who constantly err are those who constantly repent.” We come to the next stage of gaining tranquility. Sometimes we don’t know why we feel down. We talked about al-Jabbar, and how we should go to Allah to help mend our broken hearts. But sometimes it’s more than that – it is the heavy weight of sins on our hearts. This topic may make us uncomfortable, because it is something we don’t like to be reminded of. It is difficult to think of and face up to our sins – and it makes us even more depressed!
Who gets Allah’s Mercy?
Allah's mercy is beyond limits but there is a special kind of mercy He has promised to His most-beloved servants. Nouman Ali Khan explains the different groups of those special people that will receive Allah's special mercy, care and immediate response.
The Mercy of Prophet Muhammad
Belal Assaad speaks about the compassion and mercy of Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam - peace be upon him) towards the world. Not only to mankind, but all of creation. The speaker shares stories and examples from the life of the Prophet (pbuh) of how he was compassionate towards different beings in his life. How he showed compassion towards all creatures, human beings, and even the jinn. His compassion towards women and children, his wifes, his sons and daughters, and the sons and daughters of all believers. The poor and the old, the sick and the sad, the animals, and the insects even. How he showed compassions towards even the enemies of Islam.
