The famous Islamic prayer known as Bibi Fatima's Dua which was taught by the Prophet (pbuh) to his daughter, Bibi Fatima has been hand engraved in highly stylized Arabic calligraphy on this lamp. The Dua is as follows:

Allahu Akbar, Subhan Allah, Alhamdu Lillah”.

Abu Huraira said that when Fatima (his daughter) went to the Prophet and asked him for a servant, he said, “Let me guide you to something which is better than a servant. You should say, ‘Subhan Allah’ (Glory be to God) thirty-three times, ‘Alhamdu Lillah’ (Praise be to God) thirty-three times, and ‘Allahu Akbar’ (God is the greatest) thirty-four times at each time of prayer and when you go to bed”. (Hadith)

Prayer is an important spiritual practice in Islam. In prayer the believer devotes time to interact with his or her Creator, to develop a personal relationship with God, to express gratitude for countless blessings, to acknowledge failings and to ask for help.

Sometimes our prayers seem to go unanswered, but Islam teaches that this is because we do not see the bigger picture. What we take to be a loss today is usually an opportunity for bigger gains over time.

You can explore the power of prayer by articulating your deepest feelings before God. Do not feel inhibited. Shine a light on your deepest worries and fears, your highest hopes and aspirations. Strive to approach prayer with profound humility, gratitude and wonder.

Accepting whatever is happening in your life as the will of God does not mean passive resignation or freedom from personal responsibility. It means accepting that you are exactly where God wants you to be. The challenges you are facing are precisely the challenges you are ready to face.

Comfort and hardship in this world are best viewed as opportunities for spiritual growth. God dispenses reward and punishment only on the Day of Judgment. Therefore, embrace all that occurs in your life as one more chance to come closer to God. Do your duty rigorously and leave the reward to God. He is the Lord of Majesty and Bounty.
