English (Yusuf Ali): (Recite)
33:37 Behold! Thou didst say to one who had received the grace of Allah and thy favour: "Retain thou (in wedlock) thy wife, and fear Allah." But thou didst hide in thy heart that which Allah was about to make manifest: thou didst fear the people, but it is more fitting that thou shouldst fear Allah. Then when Zaid had dissolved (his marriage) with her, with the necessary (formality), We joined her in marriage to thee: in order that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the Believers in (the matter of) marriage with the wives of their adopted sons, when the latter have dissolved with the necessary (formality) (their marriage) with them. And Allah's command must be fulfilled. Turkish:
33:37 Hani sen, Allah'in kendisine nimet verdigi ve senin de kendisine nimet verdigin kisiye: "Esini yaninda tut ve Allah'tan sakin" diyordun; insanlardan çekinerek Allah'in açiga vuracagi seyi kendi nefsinde sakli tutuyordun; oysa Allah, kendisinden çekinmene çok daha layikti. Artik Zeyd, ondan iliskisini kesince, biz onu seninle evlendirdik; ki böylelikle evlatliklarinin kendilerinden iliskilerini kestikleri (kadinlari bosadiklari) zaman, onlarla evlenme konusunda mü'minler üzerine bir güçlük olmasin. Allah'in emri yerine getirilmistir.
French:
33:37 Quand tu disais à celui qu'Allah avait comblé de bienfaits, tout comme toi-même l'avais comblé: "Garde pou toi ton épouse et crains Allah", et tu cachais en ton âme ce qu'Allah allait rendre public. Tu craignais les gens, et c'est Allah qui est plus digne de ta crainte. Puis quand Zayd eût cessé toute relation avec elle, Nous te la fîmes épouser, afin qu'il n'y ait aucun empêchement pour les croyants d'épouser les femmes de leurs fils adoptifs, quand ceux-ci cessent toute relation avec elles. Le commandement d'Allah doit être exécuté.
German:
33:37 Und (gedenke der Zeit) da du zu dem sprachst, dem Allah Gnade erwiesen hatte und dem (auch) du Gnade erwiesen hattest: "Behalte deine Frau für dich und fürchte Allah." Und du verbargest in deiner Seele, was Allah ans Licht bringen wollte, und du fürchtetest die Menschen, während Allah mehr verdient, daß du Ihn fürchtest. Dann aber, als Zaid tat, was er mit ihr zu tun wünschte, verbanden Wir sie ehelich mit dir, damit für die Gläubigen keine Beunruhigung bestünde in bezug auf die Frauen ihrer angenommenen Söhne, wenn sie ihren Wunsch ausgeführt haben. Allahs Ratschluß muß vollzogen werden.

33:37 Y cuando decías al que había sido objeto de una gracia de Alá y de una gracia tuya: "¡Conserva a tu esposa y teme a Alá!", y ocultabas en tu alma lo que Alá iba a revelar, y tenías miedo de los hombres, siendo así que Alá tiene más derecho a que Le tengas miedo. Cuando Zayd había terminado con ella, te la dimos por esposa para que no se pusiera reparo a los creyentes que se casan con las esposas de sus hijos adoptivos, cuando éstos han terminado con ellas. ¡La orden de Alá se cumple!
