The Friday Mosque, Zaria,
Nigeria(1824-62)
Built by Babba Gwani. Here the plan is more square, reflecting
the Hausa building traditions and the later zaure-sahn
circle-square relationships, in which the roof is supported by a
vaulting system of arched palm-trunks plasteres with mud.
